Outside Rome
1 - Tivoli and Villa d'Este.
Founded according to tradition by the mythical Tiburno on the banks of the river Aniene, Tivoli preserves numerous testimonies of both the Roman era (for example the Acropolis Temples) and the medieval period. Fascinating is the visit to the sixteenth century Villa d'Este, with its beautiful Italian garden decorated with 500 fountains.
Cost of admission to Villa d'Este: € 10.00. Free for minors, and for everyone on the first Sunday of each month. Reduced (€ 5.00) for students between 18 and 25 years with a special document.
2 - Ostia Antica.
Founded by the Romans at the mouth of the Tiber River, Ostia became the main port of Rome in the Imperial era. The visit will allow us to discover not only the monumental face of the Roman cities (the Forum with its basilicas and temples), but also the more commercial and popular (the various stores, cafeterias, laundries, apartment buildings that we will meet along the way) , and the residential one (the splendid late-imperial Domus).

3 - Castelli Romani.
The itinerary includes a visit to the towns of Castelgandolfo (overlooking Lake Albano, there is the Pontifical Palace, summer seat of the Popes), Grottaferrata (which takes its name from the presence of the Abbey of San Nilo, built on the remains of a small building known as crypta ferrata) and Frascati, renowned for the production of wine.
